A decade ago, who would have imagined that such would or even could be the case.? As little as 4 years ago, indeed, who except the most conditioned or moronic supporters of this apology for a man, would have considered it likely?

I know that the collective IQ of North Americans is only around 97% and 30th from that of the highest national rating but, even so, I still find it hard to understand how millions of voters, particularly hard-working, lower income strugglers, can support such a man who has a history of exploiting workers, engaging in fraudulent or, at the least, nefarious practices and telling outrageous lies at every turn.

It is the stuff of fiction - fantasy, even - yet it is reality!

If I was religious I would be on my knees in prayer constantly. I'm not, so all I can do is express my distress, dismay and disappointment in a nation which, for all its mistakes and failings, has and, right now, still is one of the more peaceful and secure places in this world in which to live.

For how much longer, I wonder?
