Although I don't game and wouldn't attempt anything serious on a phone, given that so many do and Apple's past, (perhaps debatable), superior performance and quality with the iPhones one wonders whether their falling behind is a technical issue or a conscious decision not to push, for whatever secret reason they may have.

Sorry, to anyone who thinks that's a silly suggestion but in my view, not unlike 'God', Apple often works in mysterious ways. :-)
