It was a qualified statement, easily verifiable, not withstanding the reality of what your wife sees, nor suggesting that crisis and/or desperation or any other difficulties are not experienced by people in the western world. Your comment also ignores the context in which it was written.

As a tyro writer, perhaps I could have said it in a better way. Certainly it was not my intention to mislead but rather to give context to the main substance of the piece. If I failed to do so or have offended, I apologise. I am still learning and admit that, whilst not comparing my abilities to his, one of the best lessons that I have learned arose from a quote attributed to Socrates: "The only thing I know is that I know nothing." Even after 76 years of life amongst human beings, I am not ashamed to admit that. ☮️
