Medium can be a confusing platform, not least because it is continually changing in order, (I presume) to attract more content that produces readership, new subscriptions and the generation of profit for its owners. After all, it is surely in existence as a profit generation venture.

That may be small consolation for you, given your circumstances. However, if you can, be grateful for what it has allowed you to earn, so far. Be confident that you have a readership that values what you write and, perhaps, (for I understand the limitations on your time and energy), explore and seek advice on other forums or platforms for you work that may also give you some financial recompense.
