By all means leave it alone but the reason you've given is only a small part of why there was a Civil War.

You would do well to inform yourself in depth about the history of the colonisation of North America and the eventual causes and events that brought about the Civil War. There is so much more to it than 'slavery' per se. Indeed, slavery, in effect, continued even after it and, in effect, still does so today.

If you have anything for which to be sorry it is for failing to investigate what is contrary to your established and simple, probably schooled, belief.

I am no supporter of Nikki Haley nor her simplistic answer regarding the causes of the Civil War, so please don't make the mistake of confusing what I wrote and its meaning with that.
