Cook Bug, in my experience, all of us make errors of judgment, poor choices, inappropriate words, style or composition and many more 'faux pas'.

It's o.k. Most Medium contributors, in my view, are aware of practice as learning and that writing is a journey with, just as in a physical one, stops and starts, diversions, meanderings, times of boundless energy and drive and times of lethargy and barely the strength to move.

I was not criticising you but your argument. Relax and enjoy. Seeking out useful hints, exercises and examples of worthy writing is a positive thing to do and you will learn much from it. It shows that you have the essential humility to produce work of value.

Mores strength to your arm. Keep at it and, above all, seek enjoyment as much as excellence or even worthiness, for if you revel in what you do those other attributes will follow and, if they don't, it won't matter so much. :-)
