Fair enough, Nikhil. I am perhaps too sensitive or conscious of the materialism in our World and can be inappropriately harsh.

I do accept that to expect reasonable consistency from engagement with a platform is, of itself, reasonable.

I think perhaps I also have been influenced by the sheer number of complaints about Medium that I have read whilst on the platform, not all of them, in my view, altogether reasonable. However, as I have never written with a view to financial reward, perhaps I haven't been sufficiently receptive to the needs and aims of others.

Certainly, it would seem from my reading, that an issue exists between those deciding how Medium operates and those who write here, particularly those with an expectation of increased exposure or financial reward.

It may be my own ineptitude but I certainly have no real idea of how I would air a grievance with those in charge of Medium and although I have had a notification of changes, I don't recall ever being asked my opinion about them. If that is indicative of the general or usual situation then that is less than desirable and surely it would benefit Medium for a more open involvement and transparency with contributors to exist.

However, again, I have to admit that I am very much a tyro in this area and my understanding of the niceties of the system may be poor.

I do, though, wish to apologise if I was overly harsh or misinterpreted the point of your article.
