However, as much as I consider your statement to be very possibly right, I also suggest that it may be only partially true.

I say that, not to contradict you in an argumentative way but because I dislike generalisations and also believe that just as people can be conditioned to think in a particular way, some of them, at least, can have their opinions changed by rational, sensitive and non-accusatory or demeaning of how they feel.

In my experience, changing minds is best achieved through showing some genuine understanding of why others feel differently to the, (hopefully) objective view that you wish them to see and accept.
