I agree with and applaud your words.
I am saddened to say it because I have admiration for Zelensky and the Ukrainian people and I understand why he has to attempt to reconcile with the US for the sake of Ukraine.
However, I just can't but feel disturbed by seeing Zelensky trying to patch up things with Trump and saying he is willing to sign a deal for Ukrainian resources.
Zelensky has nothing for which to apologise and in no way should he or any Ukrainian leader have to 'make a deal' with Trump, in order to save his nation from occupation and/or destruction by Putin.
If there are apologies to be made or backing down to do, it ought to be that of Trump and Vance, not Zelensky.
It is completely and overwhelmingly sickening to see an American President, (though he is really a pretender to that office and should not be there), blackmailing the leader of another democratic nation into what he, Trump, claims is a 'business deal', in order to obtain the support of the richest and most powerful nation in the World. It disgusts me that such is the case.
It also horrifies me that Trump is cosying up to Putin as though he were some wonderful role model, rather than the tyrannical demagogue that he is and one who holds his office only because he organised that the Russian Constitution be changed so that he could extend his term in office. (It is appalling to consider but by no means out of the question that Trump may attempt something similar.)
Those with wealth, power, contacts and influence ought to be, by now, working out how to remove Trump from office before the USA becomes a vassal state of Russia.
Already, too much damage has been done. It this madness is allowed to continue, I fear that the situation will become irredeemable.
Action is needed now.
