I can't disagree with anything you've written - not that I was wanting to do so - but I find it so very depressing. I know that nothing is certain but the very thought of Trump once more holding the position of POTUS is enough to put tears in my eyes - or it would be if Israel's genocidal actions against the Palestinians hadn't already exhausted my tear ducts.

I've long been one to take an interest in and follow the news regarding political activity, policies, personalities, and such. However, now I feel as though I should just shut it all out and erase it from my consciousness as I can't see what there is that I can do to alter any of it.

There are people here who obviously understand and hold similar views to myself and there are others who are quite the opposite. I can't read any particular signs pointing one way or another. So, I either 'preach to the converted' - which becomes painful and irritating or argue with the populists who swallow Trump's hypocrisy as readily as those who believe in Christ's second coming, despite it having been predicted for multiple dates yet never transpired.

It's a case of the 'blind leading the blind', perhaps even on either side, I'm not sure any more. I think I ought to just go away and go to sleep, so to speak. At least then, if I can sleep until the election's over, if I find that Trump is back, I can convince myself that it's all just a nightmare and that sooner or later I will actually wake up and all will be o.k.

Take care. Stay safe. ☮️
