I like this. Very much personal preference but with a touch of rationality to the choice. In my own case, I tried the left but - I guess I'm set in my ways - just couldn't get beyond my conditioning and the dock is now back at the bottom. The one rational reason I can give for that preference is that when reading my eyes scan left to right before top to bottom & therefore I seem to hone in on the icon I want more quickly when the list is horizontal.
