I sincerely will that it does - come back to bite him, that is.

There are many factors that account for character or lack of it and for personality. I think that for most of us, its formation is insidious, stemming far more from nurture than from nature.

I don't have the expertise, (if it indeed exists at all), to know definitively what it is that causes some to be compassionate and others indifferent or even callous; I don't know what cause some to use their intelligence and intellect positively and wisely and others to waste it on logical fallacies, misconception and inflexible notions. I don't therefore tend to see 'blame' as a particularly useful concept and I tend to avoid apportioning it for i don't wish to indulge in it.

However, I do consider that people can recognise their tendencies, mistakes, false views and offensive or destructive behaviour. There are many indicators of character and personality, both positive and negative. Not least is consideration of thought - action - reaction or whether there are positive or negative results from decisions and/or actions. When these indicators are ignored or worse, selectively promoted to present the negative as valuable and positive, then in my view, fault and irresponsibilty is almost certainly attributable directly to the person and they ought to be held accountable.

So, whilst all manner of insidious conditioning and socialisation may be the root cause of Donald Trump presenting as he does today, he has most certainly crossed the line, (so to speak), between being a victim of background, circumstance and conditioning and being at fault for self-indulgence in the negative aspects of his character and the result of his decision making and actions whilst exercising power over others.

It is time for him admit his culpability and accept responsibility for his assault on decency, the rule of law, perversion of justice, propagandising lies and distortions and pursuing aggressive, punitive and reprehensible vengeful attacks on those who have attempted to show him his errors of thinking and judgment.

Trump needs to ask himself how he wishes to be remembered, for if it is to be with respect, honour and worth, he must admit to his failings and his complete unsuitability for public office - at any level.

The alternative for Trump is that he is remembered as probably the most unworthy, self-serving, crude, rude and perniciously demagoguic president in the nation's history, a man of obnoxious character and one with a pathetically simplistic intellect and a traitorous view of national interest.

- Donald, whilst there is still some small chance for you to retain some semblance of dignity and redemption, withdraw from this electoral race, retire to your mansion and play golf out of the public eye. - For your own sake - that is the best future for which you can hope.
