I very much appreciate such a thoughtful and informative post. Not all of us are well experienced on a platform such as this. Also, I think that many, if not most of us find instructions and 'fine print' so tedious that we tend to avoid or click through it. This can readily mean that we are using without understanding - almost always a recipe for problems, whether building a flat pack, operating a house-hold appliance or writing an article.

The big difference, of course, is that when we write in a community, as you rightly point out, we are dealing with the feelings of others and of ourselves.

I feel sure that I have been guilty of doing the wrong thing, not intentionally but because of not taking enough care. Your information will help me and I'm sure, help others who read it and take note.
