I'd suggest that marriage is more a conditioned life event than a realistic institution.

This isn't the place for me to give all of my reasons or real detail and argument, other than perhaps to say that I believe empathy is what makes for sound relationships, not the romanticised notion of love.

For those who don't understand or wish to know more, there are many good books out there which give a deeper assessment of marriage and what it means than is commonly understood. However, I'd strongly recommend I don't by Clementine Ford.
