I'm no technical buff, simply a long time, (forever), user of Apple computers, however I have never quite been able to make sense of their product line-ups.

To me, it seems that they have almost always had a curious mix of models and loose designations that have rarely been an accurate predictor of the capabilities of a particular device. For instance, what is 'Pro' supposed to indicate?

I wouldn't want to be without my Macs and still find irritation when I read allegations that Apple products are over-priced or Apple is deceiving people and etc. I am no lover of capitalism or the massive profits earned by big corporations or the obscenely large salaries paid to their executives. I've used personal computers of almost all types since they first appeared and I've never found any to match Apple for build quality / OS ease / longevity / Retained value. So, right or wrong, I still appreciate their products.

Still, I have to admit that in recent years I have become increasingly concerned at what seems to be a considerably confused, too hasty and more problematic marketing strategy and product line-up with an associated increase in irritating bugs and issues.

Perhaps, a little less haste, more consistent and definitive line-up with more attention to the minutiae and less on the gloss, may be worthy of consideration ...?
