Is not: Dickens: A Christmas Carol , and the three ghost of Christmas, so very apposite to how it is for those who are depressed and so reflective or illuminating of the contrasting feelings and their depths, intensity and consequences, regardless of where one is in the moment?
I think that Dickens is not in vogue today and probably little read but I feel it ought to be, particularly for those who connect with the affect of both life's inner sensations and outer experience.
But then, I've been a chronic depressive for all of my life, so perhaps that is just a personal perspective. Regardless, I think many would find much in Dickens.
