In general, I'm not enamoured of tattoos,
Though my chest is inked
It's not intended, others to amuse
A blank canvas for pierced ingress, not its use
That's not how I think
Nor as decoration, what I would choose
But I won't decry the choice of those who do
Or creative skill
Through which an image morphs into view
No doubt at times it treasures a message
Expressing self
Old love or folly of a certain age
At others, humour or a picture plays
But that's not me
Three letters satisfy all I wish to say
My ink a caution to those well meaning
Not knowing me
My wasted life,a world bereft of feeling
Life, hanging on a thread, as good as spent
My body torn
I want no doubt of my chosen intent -
Trapped in senseless human perfidy
DNR will say:
It is my life so please let me be free.
