No justices should be political appointees. If that continues to be the case, then it ought to be mandatory that they recuse themselves when a case is considered in which they have a clear political conflict of interest. Too much of that has. happened recently.

It is bad enough that the Senate has voted along partisan lines in impeachment trials - particularly as the Constitution requires them to vote according to their conscience, (though even that is problematic for the Republicans have no conscience).

The electoral college system is also problematic. Indeed, it is very clear that a rigorous and objective. review of both the judicial appointment system and the electoral system is urgently needed.

If nothing else, the decision that effectively gives immunity to the President second only to that of God is a complete travesty and abominable contradiction of the notion of equality, justice and the oath of service to the people.
