Oh dear … Trump escaped.

They say: “what goes around, comes around”, so why the concern for Trump?

Where is the national community? Where are the so-called democracies? Where are the democratic leaders?

Why, is Israel not halted by the military might of the world’s nations?

No, I’m not in favour of war and armaments and killing and maiming and all the sorrow, pain and loss that accompanies it. Nor do I condone the Hamas attack and killings and abductions of 7 October 2023. However, that atrocity pales into insignificance compared with Netanyahu’s ordered genocide.I’m a pacifist. I became one after active service in the Middle East and the senseless loss of life there.

Now, I am even more appalled that so many, if not all, leaders of supposed democracies make hypocritical statements about how there is no place for violence in democracies. Do they have no knowledge of history? The reality is that violence in politics includes:

a president being kicked out of his own party and annexing Texas in response, a senator trying to shoot a colleague on the Senate floor, violent brawls in Congress, a vice-president accused of conspiring to murder the president, not to mention the 19 times when a president…
