So refreshing to read a piece that is critical of an Apple product but presented in a considered, well reasoned manner.

I was recently blocked by someone on Medium because I argued against his/her (a pseudonym was used) ludicrous suggestion that Apple 'decides' to introduce a new product in order to 'ruin' the one that clients already have.

I know that I'm a fool for falling into the mire of attempting to reason with such people but I do find myself frustrated with crass, opinionated, nonsense of the type that abounds on Twitter and Facebook, particular when it is introduced here. Even more annoying to me is that this particular person had made no original contributions to Medium at all and, as are most such criticisms, they were one or two liners, unevidenced, repetitive & written at the level of a third grade school child.

So, excuse me, I can't afford an Apple smartwatch so I can't comment well on its desirability or otherwise. I stopped wearing a watch a long time ago because it seemed superflous once the digital age came about. I suddenly, one day, realised that there appeared to be clocks all around me and I wondered why I was carrying one on my hand.

I was born and raised in a slum area and am rough around the edges so have no interest in fashion, though I do appreciate fine aesthetics. The one, for me, expensive item that I have ever purchased was, coincidentally with your article, an Omega Seamaster, which I still have and cherish. Its aesthetics are clean, elegant and 'charming', if such is not an unreasonable word to use.

So, thank you for your article and my apologies for what some may see as perhaps a not quite on topic comment.
