So, should I glean from this that my membership of Facebook is contributing to the dark side? Should I cancel my membership despite my using it to support compassion, caring, undertanding, recongising & alleviating disadvantage and finding solutions for problems rather than just hurling rocks at whoever one happens to think is responsible for them?

Is there any validity to the notion that having a presence on FB that posts counter to the propagandads is useful, i.e. akin to the notion that sometimes, to fight a system or organisation it is better to do it from within?

If the case is that my involvement in FB is, of itself, and regardless of my posts or comments, assisting the dark side then it suggests to me that I should cancel my account. The corollary of that is that all right-minded, caring, individuals seeking to promote the common good should also avoid or withdraw from FB membership. Is that what you would have us do?

I wonder about that and I honestly don't know. I ama not making some veiled criticissm of your assessment, though in places I think it is repetetive & descends into hyperbole. That aside, its general thrust is one with which I can agree. However, if the FB membership becomes a one-sided boys club, will that help or hinder the curtailment of its power and the misuse of that power?

I don't know. I ask in good faith and becasue you have made a strong case for the existence of a significant problem but, as far as I can see, offered no soluton.
