The association here of 'animals' with humans responsible for perfidy is unjustified. Good human beings "put down" animals to relieve suffering, not for their own ends. All human beings are animals. anyway. In addition, other animal species generally do not kill their own and those that do so don't act out of malice or greed or ideological disposition.
