Thank you, Dr Watson.
Before reading this I had foolishly spent an hour reading a series of insulting, deprecating, delusional and misinformed assertions and abuse in response to a post I had made on Substack expressing my incredulity that so many women had voted for the apology of a man who considers it reasonable to grasp the genitals of any woman he chooses; who has deprived women of the right to decide what is appropriate for their own bodies; who has continually used gutter language to insult women of stature that have opposed him; and who has stacked the Supreme Court to ensure that it will be difficult if not impossible for anyone to reverse this harm in the near future.
I finally came to my senses and stopped but with a heart pounding and my head feeling as if about to explode.
I am just so tired of irrational tirades from those gullible enough, ignorant enough, angry enough, hurt enough, or conditioned enough to have accepted continual lies and falsifications and who choose to ignore or deny that Trump has ever done anything untoward - it has all just been a plot of the 'Washington cesspool" or whatever.
I've witnessed much in World politics in my 78 years after having an interest since my youth and I've known dictators incite hero-worship by playing on the fears, hurt or resentment of the masses and making promises which inevitably never come to fruition in any way which benefits the misguided many who have put them into power.
I never thought I would see it in the USA.
So, yes, I am despondent but at least not quite so close to tears and drinking myself into the grave as I was before reading your article.
So, thank you, for a voice of reason.
