Thanks for the excellent discussion regarding the M2 MacBook Air. Good advice, this, I think.

The reality is that for the majority of consumer computer users, today's market offerings offer far more power and features than most users will ever need.

Yes, for the professional user or keen amateur who requires memory hungry, speed hungry applications, SSD capacity and speeds may be critical to effective performance. I suggest, though, that this category of user is not likley to be the main purchasers of this product.

My view is that greater RAM remains the most effective & cost effective way for the average (usual) user to get the best from what they can afford.

For a user who requires a high level of portability but also high storage needs, I also suggest that larger built in storage is a benefit. At the same time, as compact, efficient, external storage is increasingly available, perhaps that is not so important as it once may have been.
