Ty, thank you for your response.

The fact that short attention spans, poor vocabulary and dumbed-down understanding of many is becoming ubiquitous is not of my making.

What I wrote, even Medium gauge as just a 3 minute read. In reality, for any half-intelligent and literate person it is probably no more than a read of 1.5 - 2 minutes. If that is "really long", then that is "really sad."

So, although I can agree with you that if my comment was even shorter, "maybe more people would read it [in] full and agree." However, I suggest that their opinion would perhaps not be of great worth.

The post was a response to an article about the platform LinkedIn having degenerated. I responded as I did because I had witnessed that over several years and finally left it, myself. I similarly left Quora and several other platforms because of their deterioration in worth.

The reality is that the majority of trivial posts, as well as the majority of abusive or even empty flattering ones, are of a few lines at best. Almost never are they supported by sound reason, let alone evidence.

That may suit you and others; it would certainly seem so. My view is that such posts are a waste of everyone's time and are simply clutter. Rarely, if ever, do they offer any substantive contribution on an issue.

I am no different to most, in that I welcome it when someone reads what I've written and appreciates it. However, it is not my fundamental reason for writing and I would far rather have serious and considered critique of my contributions than empty flattery or nitpicking disguised as valid comment that is so common.

Take care. Stay safe. ☮️
