Was it really so predictable? I'm surprised that you see it that way but perhaps I'm not understanding you. Usually, I identify very strongly with your views but there's something wrong for me here. Perhaps I'm having a dumb day or something.

It just seems an obnoxious and erroneous decision to me and one that treats the Constitution with contempt.

I'm confused. In fact this whole charade of democracy is bringing me down to the extent that I may become one of those who 'opts out' ... and I never, ever thought that would be me.
