Where are the consciences or even intellectual rationality of any USA politician who supports continuing support to Israel of both funds and weapons, regardless of Netanyahu & other warmongers in the Israeli government and opposition having ignored international humanitarian law for years and now flouting it on an almost incomprehensible scale.
Not only is the Israeli military murdering innocent Palestinians but it is murdering hostages and its own people. It appears that the Israeli powers can see violence as the only tool to protect Israel. Their approach epitomises the old adage that, "if you only have a hammer then everything you see is a nail".
As members of a religious group that saw 6 million of its own persecuted and murdered during WWII, in a mostly 'quiet' but horrific way, one would have thought that the Israeli's, of all people, would be those who understand senseless & ignorant brutality for what it is and that it is not only unjustifiable but inexcusable on any grounds. Yet, in my view, they now act as abominably cruel as did the National Socialists and do so publicly, with no shame.
That the governments of the USA, Britain, Australia, the United Kingdom, Ukraine and others also ignore this affront to international law and exercise in 'might is right' makes them complicit as war criminals.
Around 70% of those killed are women and children. I would suggest that an even greater percentage of the total killed, regardless of gender or sexuality, are innocent.
In no way can Israeli's actions be justified or excused as a legitimate: "right to self defense." - It is an abomination and, although some Hamas fighters have also committed war crimes, their actions come from decades of persecution, restriction and ill-treatment by Israel. Yes, they may have begun this latest war by their many horrific attacks on 7th October but Netanyahu's response is not self defense, it is genocidal destruction and its use of a hammer to crack a nut is deplorable.
Every nation that claims to value life and support justice and peace for its own and other citizens ought to be sanctioning Israel and demanding, even perhaps intervening to ensure that Israel cease its unforgiveable and indiscriminate process of revenge, for that is what it is.
