Yes, I fully agree with your assertion thqt the rapist should be named. Language and how it is used is important. I accept that I ought to have realised that problem in my writing and I apologise for it. In mitigation. I can only offer that it was my anger at what Dominique Pelicot did and that the fact that he was her husband, made it an even greater betrayal to me.

I don't glorify men as protectors. I do feel protective of anyone who is vulnerable and I don't apologise for that. I have been fortunate enough to know and be close to many admirable women whose ability to 'protect' themselves was indisputable. Indeed, my last partner with whom, gratefully, I still have an amicable relationship, is far more capable of looking after herself than I am of looking after her. As for her ability to 'protect' herself - that is debatable. She is about 162 cm tall and 50 km in weight and also a warm, peaceful, non aggressive person.

I suggest that she is extremely vulnerable in today's sick society.

If your reference to men as protectors was meant in relation to my feeling that men need to speak out and opposed the many inequities and wrongful attitudes that possibly the majority of males have towards woman, then I am sad about that for unless males change their views then females will continue to suffer the tragedies that they do.

Finally, I'd. just say that whilst I accept that you have every right and, indeed, oughtt o call out those who decry, demonise, demean or attack women and girls who stand up for themselves, I am not one of them and am saddened that you have seen fit to suppose that I am.

Is your point thus that I shouldn't speak out against wrongful expectations and realities of females in our society because I am male? For that is how your cursory response to me sounds.

Take care. Stay safe. ☮️
