Yes, it always sad whenever their is suffering and also, at least for many, even angering when that suffering need never have happened and was caused by others who also profess to love family, friends and such.

Perhaps if we gave less applause to 'love' and more to 'empathy', there could be a change to greater understanding of what it may be like to be 'the other'.

Perhaps if we also had more funding for studies of and education focused on the causes, maintenance and benefits of *peace*, as opposed to the development of ever more powerful weapons of war and annihilation, we would change our world for the better.
