Yes, it is irrefutable that the word 'love' is used so carelessly, often hypocritically, and sometimes even nefariously.

I don't say that, in all cases, those using it intend to be devious or to mislead but I do say that some very large proportion of those using it have neither thought about what they are suggesting by using the word or how, in all honesty, they can use it in relation to the future - a future that no-one can predict.

I understand that you and so many others tell me that you believe love is real. Of course you do for you have been conditioned to think that way and the connotations of the word have become so deeply entrenched in our society that almost no-one will ever even stop to think about what they are saying when they use the word.

I had hoped that my piece would cause some discussion and, even better, some serious thought about the implications of this powerful, almost magical term being so carelessly and thoughtlessly expressed by all and sundry and in all manner of situations. I cannot be sure of whether I have succeeded in my aim but perhaps I have at least made a start and caused some to think about this who, perhaps, would never otherwise have done so.

Thank you for your interest and response.

Take care. Stay safe. ☮️
