Yes, the film certainly offers many parallels or similarities to what has actually occurred since it was made and what, unfortunately, continues to occur.

It does offer a relatively superficial and obvious, (to anyone who thinks), cause of today's cretinism and/or insanity. Even so, I suspect that the real answer is more complex and runs deeper.

My question was, of course, rhetorical.
