You are a writer.

You are a writer because you write and because what you write is an expression of what you feel.

For me, a writer is not, as once I was told, "anyone who writes." There are many who make a living from writing, whose words do nothing for me.

A writer, to me, is someone who transfers their inner self, thoughts, images, imagination and such into words for an audience. That audience may be themselves or it may be a much wider group. For the real writer, it doesn't matter, for it is the act of writing that is important, not how it is received.

How writing is received is information. It is also historical information. It is past.

Writing is alive because it is present. It is now. It is experience.

You, are a writer.

...

May I suggest: May Sarton / Journal of a solitude. If, indeed, you haven't already discovered it. It is a wonderful work that I suspect says much that will resonate with any 'writer'.
