You are right, in my view. That is why, I think that NATO and all other free nations ought to be resisting militarily.
I hate war. However, this invasion is akin to what became WWII. This time, instead of ending the war, it is likely that nuclear weapons will begin and end it.
I see that such is the likely eventual result of this invasion anyway, unless Putin is removed by any sane Russian generals or other powerful people that can do it.
So, as much as I hate to say it and I know i will likely be castigated for it, we may as well have a nuclear war now than later - and do it on our terms rather than Putin's. Who knows, the threat of that may even cause him to do the right thing and pull out all of his troops. If it doesn't and the World blows itself to pieces or radiates humanity out of existence. Then rather now than later. Living under the threat of nuclear blackmail is intolerable.
Yes, I agree with those who mention US perfidy and hypocrisy in the difference in its actions between Ukraine and Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq and so on but that is not the point. We are now at a point where we accept Putin's blackmail, i.e. effectively give in to a terrorist or we fight back - militarily, not just with sanctions
