Your views, in my opinion, are right on the mark. We need them to be shared and heard.
All war is anathema to me. Killing has become, (or perhaps always been), a norm for the human race precisely because those in control, whether by might, wealth, inherited privilege, religious hierarchy, mythical 'divine right', election or whatever, have and do order it. They justify doing so, almost inevitably by manufacturing 'reasons' that are actually distortions of the truth - excuses - and most often aimed at benefiting themselves and their like.
The killing and maiming of innocent civilians, (and innocent and reluctant soldiers, in many cases), is presented as unfortunate but unavoidable. Today, in the age of euphemism, (disguise of reality), this is now referred to as 'collateral damage.)
Israeli warmongers, led by the demagogue Netanyahu, kill their own people, effectively sacrifice hostages, murder defenseless women, children, the sick, the aged, the infirm, with impunity and justify this on the grounds that Hamas fighters are using them as a shield. - Another excuse.
Even if Hamas does have fighters or supplies or armaments in or close to civilian infrastructure, homes or buildings, that does not excuse the indiscriminate bombing and destruction of civilians and their homes and facilities. It is not the only way.
There is never only one way. There are always choices.
I detest all conflict. I am on no-one's side, in the sense of colour, ethnicity, religion, sex, birthplace, citizenship or whatever. However, this conflict is not caused by the events of October 7th, even if that was a trigger for the latest escalation.
The real cause of this conflict goes back to perfidy committed when Israel was created and persecution of Palestinians ever since. Some will argue that it goes back further but that argument is based solely on religious claims, i.e. myth. The Palestinians occupied those lands that were stolen from them for around 400 years before European powers and the US got together and gave in to a zionist pressure group and partitioned Palestine to create Israel.
1 child is now killed every 10 minutes in Gaza and 1 woman every 20 minutes. Over 10,000 people have been killed by Israel indiscriminate bombings and shelling, 70% women and around 50% children. Over a quarter of Gaza's homes and building have been raised to the ground.
Netanyahu has, himself, publicly claimed this as revenge and that is what it is - the rage of a megalomaniac or insane and compassionless demagogue who currently has the power to order a criminals, profane, obscene and excessive military carnage aimed, with no doubt, at genocide of the Palestinian people.
There are many anti-semites around the World. I am not one of them. l do believe, however, that Netanyahu has just ensured that the number of them will have expanded considerably. Those nations who one-sidedly condemn Hamas but refuse to condemn Israeli actions are not helping Jews but simply ensuring that what dislike, mistrust, suspicion or hatred of them already existed, will now have increased considerably.
It is a sad indictment of the lack of intellect or self interest and conditioning of those who 'lead' other nations.
